Upgrading
to Exchange 2003 can be a daunting task if you don't
have the in-house expertise. We can make the process

It
is possible (though not always desirable) to do an
in-place upgrade of Exchange 2000
to Exchange 2003. Exchange 5.5 cannot be upgraded to Exchange 2003 in-place,
so other strategies have to be deployed. Considerations for upgrades are:- • Training for administrative staff
• Selecting the upgrade/coexistence tools. Defining the period of co-existence?
• Testing upgrade procedures in a computer lab and
deploying Exchange Server 2003
• Creating recipient objects in Active Directory directory
services
• Deploying Microsoft Outlook 2003 and providing user training
• Migrating user data across to Exchange 2003
• Decommissioning the old Exchange server(s) For
multi-phase upgrades where a period of coexistence
is required, additional steps are needed to test, deploy,
and manage interoperability
between Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 5.5 or Exchange
2000.
